The Company:
New England Bakery with retail locations and 50 employees.
The Client Issues were focused on the administrative aspects of Workers Compensation:
1. Their business model resulted in having workers compensation carriers over the years conduct invasive audits to determine the actual duties and payrolls
2. The audits proved very difficult and required the involvement of several employees and every location to contribute to compute the audit
3. If any employee, in any location, was not present for the audit they had to train another employee on: audit procedure, what was required and how to get ready for it
4. Each year the insurance company had a new auditor requiring a substantial "break in" period to get the auditor to understand the client company's business
5. The client experience sustained growth so any errors were a potential issue
6. The audits were typically punitive resulting in substantial additional premiums all out of plan and budget
7. They were frustrated at their inability to get great pricing and at the same time obtain reasonable and consistent audit procedures
The Solution:
OEM offered the client an employment strategy that:
1. Eliminated the need to purchase workers compensation with an audit
2. Allowed them to use OEM's worker's compensation coverage plan with an A++ 15 carrier
3. Configured for the client a simple and reasonable payroll procedure that would allow the client to generate the data that auditors would want in the first place
4. Delivered to the client a premium payment plan with 52 installments and with a guaranteed accurate WC cost
5. There were no more premium audits guaranteed
6. Guaranteed there were no more surprise payments
7. No more employee training was needed and
8. No more "breaking in" required for new insurance auditors
Competitive pricing, no headaches. Reasonable - Real world solutions
